  • Combwich Cruising Club

The Club was formed in 1966 with moorings and mud berths in the Pill at Combwich. The Pill had been used for centuries as a local berth for ships coming up the River Parrett to and from Bridgwater. A quay was built in 1952 to allow for ships docking with materials to service the building of Hinkley Point Power Station and this, and the associated area was later to become part of CMBSC.

The club facilities are leased from EDF on land between Combwich Laboratory and the River Parrett. There is a clubhouse with showers and toilet facilities, a workshop, a storage shed and boat and car parking space.

  • We are proud of our Club and are pleased to see that recent the refurbishment and a general tidy up has created more boat parking space.  The garage at the back of the club has been cleared to facilitate boat repairs and maintenance and Club Members can see what is available by checking the 'Calendar' and to reserve a slot please speak to the Bosun.

    Boat Workshop

The club facilities are leased from EDF on land between Combwich Laboratory and the River Parrett. There is a clubhouse with showers and toilet facilities, a workshop, a storage shed and boat and car parking space.

Two slips run from the compound into the River Parrett and there is another, free public slipway on the opposite side of the Pill which runs into the Pill. The public slip has more gradual decent and is a bit more managable when pulling out boats on trailers.

A new pontoon is due to be completed by HPC alongside the main slipway later this year. Also the old pontoon in the Pill is to be relocated further up the Pill and a longer section, which has been donated by Burnham on Sea Sailing Club, will be refurbished and re-decked later this year.
