Work on our new Gig is going well and scheduled for delivery by the end of March.

Almost finished!

Website Calendar Have a look at our updated calendar.

Doodle was demonstrated at the Gig Meeting in February as a method for members to book in for Gig training sessions. This also work well with our calendar by inserting a link into the relevant 'event' entry. More details to follow or call Bill.

Clubhouse Refurbishment & Gig Racing.

Huge improvements to the clubhouse have just been completed, so a huge thank you to those who gave their time and expertise to complete the work.

Our Gig has been orderd and shoud be delivered by the end of March. Funding for the Gig was as follows:

1. Somerset Community Foundation (EDF Community Impact Mitigation Fund - Otterhampton fund)
2. The Sailing Club
3. The Otterhampton Parish Council.

Plans are also being discussed to attract young members with dinghy sailing 'tasters'.

Thses topics have also highlighted the need to update our safety policy, especially for Gig Racing activities and add a new 'Safeguarding' document to cover working with young people. These can be viewed here for  Safety, and here for Safeguarding,  members are encouraged to read them.

The first phase of the work on the wharf was completed just before Christmas and our thanks to HPC and Hochtief for minimising the disruptiuon to the club and members.

The garage has now been cleared and available to book for members to work on their boats. This 20' Drascombe Lugger fitted in easily with room to spare all round. Please book on the board located in the main clubhouse. Any queries please speak to our Bosum - Mark Lowther.

Empty Pill
The Pill.

Looking rather empty at the moment.

This is pending Hinkley Point 'C' (HPC) carrying out some test drilling right in the entrance. The boats usually moored here have been temporarily relocated elsewhere, mostly Watchet Marina.

Work started 30 August and the drill platform arrives in a couple of weeks. The contractors will put their own lock on the gate during this time to control access whilst they are working.
